Pre Production - Reflection week 4

Pre Production week 4 - 

This week -

This week myself and my partner have been analysing three existing productions for research into the products we shall be making. These are; Magazine advert, Digipak and a music video. We have analysed 3 for each of these products. We allocated roles for each piece of research we had to produce. 

I had to analyse three digipak's and two magazine adverts whilst my partner analysed three music videos and one magazine advert, we found this the best way to set the work out as the music video would take reasonably longer to analyse. When analysing the digipak's I found it difficult as some are very different and I had to question why they set it out like this and if it would effect their audiences perception of the band or artist. However when looking at the digipak's I got an idea of how we would want our bands image to look like and how we would portray that on to the digipak. I also then analysed two of the three magazine adverts, from this I also gathered an idea of what myself and my partner could include on our magazine advert as there were many things both adverts had in common. 

Then as extra work my partner and I decided we needed to gather some initial ideas we did two of these, initial ideas 1 and initial ideas 2 and agree on something, we settled on the idea of nature, we wanted to include leaves and trees on the both our magazine advert and digipak, we set out and took some pictures of leaves and other images we believed would look good on the cover. Then my partner went to Lincoln, there she also took some pictures of nature and images she thought would look good. We have looked at theses images and when it comes to finally designing the digipak and magazine advert.

We then decided to get ahead we would design our tracking list and typography for our band, we used Dafont to find some text that we liked and after searching we found one then we designed our tracking list, we thought this would be helpful as we could get ahead and have more time for editing and less to worry about later on in the project. 


Next week - 
Next week myself and my partner have a deadline, we have to finish all of our work by the middle of the week. So far we believe we are on track to get it all finished. We are going to complete a focus group, a final treatment, flat plan designs for both our digipak and magazine advert and a shooting script. We believe we will get this completed by the deadline.
